My publisher, Williams & Whiting, has just released a new book from this author.  “ONE FIGHT AT A TIME” features a new character Ed Grover – an American GI in Bristol during the years following World War II.

The city is broke.  Good people are struggling to get by.

An alternative to Amazon?

In the books department that is…  Currently, with some books, Amazon are saying there will be delays with deliveries.  So friends, look elsewhere.  To other online  booksellers,  like BooksEtc at www.booksetc.co.uk , and the Book Depository at www.bookdepository.com; who have copies in the UK ready to distribute.  All of which begs a question.

The Strange World of Gurney Slade

I’ve just re-visited this forgotten work of genius by the late great Anthony Newley.   An ITV comedy series from the 1960s shot (amazingly) on  35 mm film.

A sitcom actor, fed up with the desperately un-funny stuff he is doing, walks out of the TV studio into a world of his own invention.

Jack Shepherd 2

Folks,

Now halfway through the 2nd Jack Shepherd thriller – “Changing the Odds”.  And currently no excuses for indolence, or leaving the pc to claim a walk is a good idea – wind raging, and rain blowing horizontally past my study window.

Thanks to all who have bought “Closing the Distance”,

Jeff Dowson on Twitter

Five things you need to know about Dominic Raab, the man Theresa May has chosen to lead her Tory Brexit.

This line from #WinniethePooh always creates a #Buzz (sorry!) - one of my favourites - repeated in honour of #DontStepOnABeeDay

The first things to go from community-led libraries are the books and the paid staff. They aren't part of the PLR either so regional authors miss out.

Bristol author @Jeff_Dowson was kind enough to share some thoughts on libraries. Thank you!

Libraries are in the relegation zone

Yes it’s true, libraries don’t earn money. They don’t make anything. They have nothing to sell. They are a loss leader. Libraries cost ...

Many thanks to author @Jeff_Dowson for a fascinating afternoon of crime and intrigue. Jeff joined the #Yeovillibrary reading group to talk about his book "Cloning the Hate". #SomersetReads
